5 Current Drugstore Favourites #2

I think I may actually have to make this a permanent feature on LéBlog because I’m really enjoying these short product reviews.  Once again, these are mini reviews of products I’ve been loving from the drugstore recently.

Colourpop Highlighter in Wisp (R115.81): I bought this because I thought it would be a super inexpensive dupe for the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter.  I haven’t actually used Champagne Pop so I don’t have anything to compare it to but the texture of this product is unlike anything I’ve ever used.  It feels like a mouse but dries down like a powder and has the most intense payoff. It’s more of a champagne, goldy highlight which is very different to MAC Soft & Gentle and The Balm Mary lOU0-Mnaizer (both more vanilla).  Basically this has been the only highlighter on my face recently.

Essence Kajal Liner in Teddy (R19.95):  Yoh this is a very good dupe for the MAC Teddy Liner (which I love), so if you’re more into affordable products get this!  I’ve been using this on quick makeup days in place of eyeshadow.  I (very roughly) add this to my upper lash line, smudge it with a fluffy brush, then add a little more on the lash line.  Smudge a little onto the lower lash line, pluck on mascara & you’re good to go.

Revlon Ultimate All in One mascara (R159.00):  Since I’ve only been using drugstore products the month, I’ve been forced to find a replacement for my beloved MAC Extended Play lower lash mascara.  I’m proud to say that I’ve found it!  This wand is miniature so it works perfectly on the lower lashline, it coats every tiny little lash and is about R100 cheaper.  That’s a win in my books.

Essence Half Lashes (R54.00):  I have been waring this nonstop for the last 3 weeks.  They’re the perfect everyday false lashes – I would never have thought I could describe false lashes as ‘everyday’ but these really are.  They add extra without being over the top and blend perfectly with my natural lashes.  The almost invisible lash band means I can wear these with no eyeshadow or liner, legit just mascara & it works.

CATRICE Cosmetics Prime & Fine Beautifying Primer (R92.95):  I’ve loved this since I first tried it but it was somehow just shoved to the back of my makeup stash.  I don’t find that it necessarily increases the wear of my makeup but really love the glow it adds to my skin.  I either wear this by itself for healthy looking skin or obviously as it’s intended, under foundation.  It helps even the most matte, full coverage foundation look healthy & lit-from-within.

I hope you guys have been enjoying these posts.  Leave me a comment if you’ve tried any of these products and your thoughts on them.

They’re not always the best with restocking products but definitely keep checking or even look online, Takealot stocks Catrice I think! 🙂 x
