Local South African Skincare: SKOON SKIN

Skoon is a brand many people have been swooning over recently, partly because their branding and packaging are amazing, but mostly because their products are beautiful.  They’ve received many rave reviews for their Ruby Marine Overnight Mask and their serums.

You may remember hearing about them on my Snapchat a little while ago and I wrote this post about their sample packs not too long ago.  After receiving the sample pack with products specific to what my skin needs I was hooked.  In fact I’m still using the sample size of the Ruby Marine Overnight Mask which is phenomenal and if you haven’t used it yet, I highly recommend you get your hands on it.  Now onto the products I’ve been testing recently.

local south african skincare: skoon skin gel to milk cleanser and makeup remover

Gel to Milk Cleanser & Makeup Remover – As I said, I’ve stalked the brand and already know every inch of their website and I’ve had my eye on this product for a while.  Purely because I like the sound of a gel to milk cleanser.  I’ve never used anything like it and have always been curious.  Another definite plus is that it’s a 2-in-1 product, removes makeup, and that includes stubborn mascara and cleanses your face.  I mean hello!

local south african skincare: skoon skin white cloud manuka concentrate

White Cloud Manuka Concentrate – This is formulated for skin that’s prone to breakouts or blackheads.  As I’ve said I don’t have serious acne but I do get the occasional breakout or hormonal spots and this serum is perfect for that time.  Another great thing about this serum is that it can be mixed with one of their moisturisers to create a custom product which I really like.

Enzyme Exfoliating Clay Mask – I love this because its a dual-phase products.  Combining the powder with water creates a smooth clay which you lather on your face, not including your eye area.  The clay mask draws out all the impurities in your skin and then when you rinse off the mask it exfoliates your skin.  The best part is that it’s a light scrub, not abrasive at all.

I love that all their products are organic, natural and handmade.  Skoon is still a very small & intimate company where Stella, the owner is hands on with everything.  One of the girls that got the sample pack after my recommendation, sent me a message on Snapchat saying that she had an allergic reaction to the products.  She emailed Skoon and Stella responded by sending her updated products and was genuinely interested in finding a combination of ingredients that was right for her skin.  I mean isn’t that the best attention to detail?

I love everything about this brand. I bought the full size gel-to-milk makeup remover/cleanser at Kamersvol this year (after trying like 3 sample pots of this stuff and loving every one of them…obv!) and I’ve been using the superfluity/gel moisturiser for the mornings and their super moisturiser for the evenings. I also really like their clay cleanser… ugh basically I’ve tried A LOT of stuff and loved everything. And the point of this message… Hi, fellow Skoon lover!
