Local South African Skincare: OH LIEF

Oh Lief is a brand I actually hadn’t heard about until I received an email about some of their products.  Ofocurse I did a little research on the brand & found out that they have a great range of products from body wash to baby creams.

This would be a great brand for moms with young kids because most of their products are formulated for sweet baby/kid skin.  I mean I wish I had that baby bum soft skin on my face but alas.  So if you’re a mom on the go, definitely check out their products.  All of which are cruelty free, biodegradable and organic.

Natural Olive Hand Wax – You guys know my struggle with dry skin and dry hands in particular so I’m always happy to try new products.  This is interesting because it’s made of olive oil, beeswax, jojoba & avocado oil to name a few.  I’ve never tried a product like this but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this.  I use it before bed because it does have that greasy, waxy feeling even after rubbing it in. It’s a lovely product but it definitely has not taken the spot of my Palmers Cocoa Butter.

Natural Sunscreen Moisturiser with SPF 20 – I used this a lot during the holidays because I really couldn’t be bothered with wearing makeup or even doing my regular skincare routine.  This was the only ‘skincare’ product I wore over the holidays (shock & horror).  It definitely protected my skin because although my body was burnt to a crisp my face stayed as fresh as ever.  Be warned though it does have the dreaded sunscreen shine but with this insane Cape Town weather the sunscreen shine is essential.

I’ve only tried these two products from their range but they do have quite a large selection for both adults and babies.  They stock quite a few stores but the biggest is Woolworths, so go check them out there.
