Max Factor Face Finity All Day Primer Review

I’ve never been that into primers, not because they don’t work but because it’d just another step and I’m far too lazy.  After continuous breakout’s in the beginning of the year, which are common for most people but I’ve always had clear skin so it’s odd for me.  Which is where the Max Factor Face Finity Primer comes in.

Before we get into this I quickly want to explain what a primer is.  Primers are used after moisturiser and before foundation as a barrier between the foundation and your skin.  Basically the foundation will adhere to your primer instead of sinking into your skin.  Essentially it’s a hybrid between skincare and makeup.  Primers have different functions such as mattifying, oil control, skin smoothing, pore refining and illuminating.  Great primers change the way your makeup sits on your skin and the way it wears thought the day.

Okay let’s get into reviewing the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Primer:

This primer is a great starter drugstore option, an all rounder product really.  It smooths the skin, leaves a slightly matte finish (not drying at all) & extends the wear of your makeup.  Another positive is that it has an SPF 20, I mean hello!  I tested my foundation without this primer underneath and let me tell you it makes a big difference.  Without the primer my face will have gobbled up/sweated off the foundation by 2pm and let’s not event talk about the excess shine, it’s horrible.

If you read last weeks post about the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation you know I’m currently obsessed with dewy foundations that look like skin.  I would’t usually be able to wear a glowy foundation because I have an oily t-zone but this primer makes it possible.  The oil control in this primer is an absolute life saver.

If you’ve never understood primers or are wanting to dip your foot in the primer pool this is a great way to start.  You can find this at Clicks & Dischem for R150.

Have you tried this primer or do you have any recommendations for other primers?

R150 is such a reasonable price, wow! Tempted to try this out, so tempted…

I have only ever tried primer by Smashbox, which is unfortunately way out of my price range. It sure was amazing though.

Sadly, I had a fall out with MaxFactor over social media and now have mixed emotions about buying their products again :'(
