The Body Shop has recently launched this foundation and they sent it over about 2 months ago. So I’ve been testing this foundation for about 2 months – to give you a well-rounded foundation review.
It claims to have 24hr moisture and wear, natural glow and SPF15. I’ve applied this with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge as well as the Real Techniques buffing brush. Both worked well and with about two layers I built it up to a medium coverage. If you’re looking for a full-on cake face foundation this is not the one for you but if you’re in the market for a light, semi-matte foundation, this is your friend.
I’ve mentioned in previous videos & blog posts that I have normal/combination skin with an oily T-Zone, dry cheeks and sensitive forehead. This has more of a pink undertone which means this is not the perfect shade for me as I tend to have more of a yellow undertone. At the beginning of winter I had some dry patches on the tops of my cheeks which the foundation clung to for dear life. So if you have dry skin this may not be the best option for you. But if you do give it a go, make sure to use a rich moisturiser and maybe a glow primer too.
I love that this lasts all day, has a semi- matte finish, which means I have some glow coming through on my cheekbones but still kind of matte on my forehead. You know some foundations just get excessively shiny as they wear throughout the day – this doesn’t do that. Even after two pumps of this foundation you can still see my freckles peaking through and a little bit of redness on my cheeks.
I have the shade Sahara Light 030 but could definitely go a shade or two darker. I think I’ll definitely be using this more in the summer months when I’m looking for that matte finish. But for right now I’m trying to add all the glow I can get.
They have quite a range of shades, and it goes as dark as 080 so you’re bound to find a shade that suits you out of the 16 options. If you’re keen you can pick this up at any Body Shop stores for R275.
