These are just a few recent drugstore finds that I thought I would share with you before you see them popping up in YouTube tutorials.  I’ve been eyeing out the Lipidol range of oils since their release and finally bought the after shower oil.  The jury is still out on this one, will do a review once I’ve properly tested it out.  I’ve heard rave reviews and thought this would be a better option for summer rather than constantly reapplying cream. I use this to replenish the oils into my skin, thus less dry skin, more happy skin.   Lipidol After Shower Oil (R79,99) at most Clicks stores.

Most of these items have been bought on recommendation of other YouTubers, so I’m expecting them to be good!  The NYX lipstick in the shade and lip liner in the shade are the perfect ‘my lips but better’ colour.  Which is so perfect for me because some days I don’t want completely nude but don’t want something to out there, this is perfect

L.A Girl Pro Conceal in the Shade …. is too dark for me.  I swatched them in the store and I was sure I had the right colour, but when I got home – like two shades darker than my face, so beauty blogger fail.

I watch a lot of great British Beauty YouTubers and I mostly love it, except for the fact that majority of the brands they mention are not readily available in South Africa.  But when they mention some of the limited supply of drugstore brands that are available to us here, I jot them down.  So recently when I heard Essie Button & Hello October rave about the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in the shade Checkmate and immediately put it at the top of my Dischem/Clicks to-buy list.

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy – Checkmate (R89,99) on sale at Dischem NOW! Also Bourjois has an almost exact dupe for this for  around R80/R90.

This colour is just so lovely, a nice neutral, classic wedding planner colour, the formula is great – you may even be able to get away with doing one coat.  It’s a taupe beige-ish colour, so its perfect for keeping on for one or two weeks (seems pretty good at not chipping), and it will go well with any outfit or occasion.

To make it a bit more festivey I painted a little bit of the MAC Girl Trouble on my ring fingers, which is not much like me, but I love the shimmer of the MAC shade and the nude, neutral shade of the Revlon, so why not have both?    MAC Nail Lacquer – Girl Trouble (R120)

Let me know if you try any of these or if you enjoyed hearing my ramblings.

Happy Drugstore shopping.
