Review: MAC Natural Radiance Base + Face & Body Foundation

I’ve had people asking if I work at MAC recently which is odd but also warranted because I have been featuring loads of MAC products recently.  That is for no other reason than I am just having a MAC phase.  Granted I’ve loved MAC since I was in high school but yeah, you have another MAC review coming your way today.

If you only use cruelty free products stop reading now because you obviously will not like this.  Now that that’s over lets get on with the review.  These are two products that have had quite a bit of air-time recently on LeBlog & my channel because they’re new, also the’re great.  Pretence to this review, along with the rest of the world I’m into glowy, healthy, youthful skin and although I firmly believe that starts with your skincare I love makeup that helps to add the glow.

MAC Natural Radiance Base in the yellow shade (R450):  This product was bought to add to my ever-growing makeup kit for freelance work but before adding it to my kit I always give it a go first, just to make sure it’s good enough.  I’m happy to report that it is fantastic!  It can be worn by itself just as a radiance boosting product on the days that you can’t be bothered on a full face of makeup or, as I prefer to wear it, as a primer.  I use this before foundation, mainly the MAC Face & Body foundation but it wears well under other foundations too.  It adds the right amount of radiance to my skin without making it look slippery/wet.  A great glow inducing primer.

MAC Face & Body Foundation in C2 50ml (R420): This is a cult product from MAC that almost every makeup artist that I follow online or know personally, rave about this foundation.  It is a very water based product, something unlike anything else I’ve used.  It is in a category of it’s own.  When you first apply this it is extremely liquid and could run down your face if you left it but when you start blending it in it becomes almost tacky.  That’s how I know it’s starting to set.  When its first applied to the skin it looks like nothing, like there’s absolutely no cover but when you blend the cover seems to increase.  In my opinion this is the ultimate ‘skin’ foundation because you can still see imperfections, freckles, rosy cheeks, etc through it but just makes your skin look more perfected.  It is also extremely buildable without looking cake because of it’s very water based formula.

By the pictures below you can tell that it adds the most beautiful luminosity & radiance to the skin.  Obviously because this is a glowy/radiant foundation, it’s not just glowy in some areas, it’s glowy everywhere.  Hence, I set it with loose translucent powder just around my nose, under the eyes, just above the bridge of my nose and around my mouth.

In these pictures I’m wearing MAC Natural Radiance Base, MAC Face & Body Foundation, Bobbi Brown Corrector, Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, Essence Make Me Brow, Kryolan Loose Translucent Powder & Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip Balm.

Have you used either of these products & what do you think of them?

Ps, if you want more of these quick review posts, leave me a comment to let me know that you like them, and maybe some suggestions on products that you’d like to see reviews for.

Hello Taylor,

What do you think about the Kryolan Ultra Fluid Foundation and the TV Paint Stick from Kryolan? Also, which highlighters would you recommend that’s not too pricey?

I love your posts!

Love
