Local South African Skincare: SKIN CREAMERY

I first heard about Skin Creamery on Social Media when a few bloggers were sent some product to try and because of all their rave reviews I quickly became obsessed with buying their Everyday Cream.  Yup, I too am influenced by others to buy more than I need.

I’ve finally gotten my hands on their Everyday Cream, which is amazing by the way, as well as their soon-to-be-released products.  I met Hannah (owner) at the Beauty Fair I went to toward the end of last year and we had such a lovely conversation about skincare, makeup and everything beauty related – it was lovely!  I also found out that she watches my videos which is always such a nice surprise.  I’m getting side tracked – back to skincare.

Everyday All Over Cream – This is product is unlike anything I’ve used before – it’s gentle enough to use on your face and creamy enough for your body.  I mean is that not the best combination?  I’ve been using this as an evening moisturizer and my skin has been happily drinking this up.  If I use it in the mornings I use the smallest amount because my skin tends to run on the oily side.  I already feel like I need to buy a backup for this – I love it that much.  It has that very naturally fragranced scent, like not too in your face, but still really beautiful.

Facial Cleansing Powder – I’ve been testing this out for a little over two weeks now and I love it.  My forehead tends to be a bit on the sensitive side but otherwise the rest of my face can do with a light exfoliating once a week.  It’s has the right amount of grit to it, not too abrasive to the point where you think you’re striping your skin.  It just leaves your skin feeling smooth and clear of all the gunk.  How it works: Combine about a R5 sized amount of powder with a few drops of water & mix to make a paste.

Facial Moisturising Oil – I’ve used many facial oils, but have never used one like this.  You use 2-3 drops of the oil and mix it with 2 drops of water then pat it into your face.  This is a very different concept for me and initially I didn’t really see the point but after using it, I’m happy!  The way Hannah explains the water, oil combo: “The oils used have a very small molecular size which makes them more similar to the skins natural oils thus absorbed easily instead of sitting on the skin.  By adding water to this and rubbing it between your hands this further reduces the oil particles.  Which means you don’t get that oily/sticky feeling”. So if you’re not into the oily feeling some facial oils leave on the skin, this is the product for you.

The combination of these three products is an absolute dream!  If you’re into your skincare or have been following the brand for a while I’d highly recommend all three products – they’re so lovely!  If your skin leans more to the oily side and you’ve always avoided serums, this facial oil is a good dip your feet in the pool product.  Another positive: their products are 100% organic – YES!

The exfoliating cleanser and facial oil will be launching in the first week of February so look out for that.  They’re worth getting your hands on quickly – I can imagine that their will be many orders because their Everyday Cream has been such a hit.

I have the exfoliating powder and love it! I picked up a sample sachet of the cream at Kamersvol this year and only now got around to using it. Didn’t use it on my face but instead on my chest and arms and I’m in love! Mine was very softly scented, with spearmint being the standout for me. I’ll definitely be adding this cream to a wishlist of some sorts.
