Skin Ceuticals Review

Skin Ceuticals is a brand I was only introduced to at the beginning of this year and it was quickly added to my never-ending list of products to buy.  So if you’re like me and you’ve been stalking all their posts but you haven’t quite bit the bullet to buy or don’t quite know what the hype is about maybe this post will show you why it’s totally worth investing in.  Great skin is an investment – you can decide if you’re willing to invest or not!  If you are, carry on reading.

Skin Ceuticals H.A Intensifier Serum Review

Skin Ceuticals H.A Intensifier Serum (R1 550.00) –  let’s talk about what this is and what it offers.  H.A stands for Hyaluronic Acid, which assists your skin in retaining moisture & hydration and is particularly good for dehydrated skin.  It’s also great for these colder months where your skin tends shrivel up to prune-status – just me? okay!  Anyway, this product offers a 30% increase in the hyaluronic acid levels in your skin which in turn leaves your skin feeling softer & more plump.
My thoughts: I absolutely love this!!  Yes, that’s two exclamation points you see there, which perfectly describe my love.  It’s lightweight, sinks in incredibly easily and your skin still feels hydrated and soft.  It doesn’t feel it’s created an oily layer on my skin and it plays nicely with other products applied over the top.  I use this daily , morning and night along with my regular skincare products (watch this video if you’re interested).  Of late, my skin has been next level glowy and I think that’s because this product has helped my skin to retain all the moisture it’s given.  Totally worth the investment!
Skin Ceuticals CE Ferulic Antioxidant Review
Skin Ceuticals CE Ferulic (R2 225.00) – this is a daytime antioxidant serum which protects your skin from UVA & UVB rays.  As we all know the sun ages the skin resulting in more wrinkles, which is why I drone on about using an SPF everyday, even if you’re not going to be out in the sun or if it’s raining!  This product works with your broad spectrum SPF to protect your skin.
My thoughts:  I like the idea of this product but once again, like sunscreen, you can’t see the immediate effects.  It doesn’t plump or firm your skin but in the longterm I’m expecting to look like a porcelain doll at 50, beautiful skin, with no pigmentation or sun spots.  I use this after my face mist and before the H.A Serum.  If you can see sun spots appearing or like me you want to prevent them this is great to use with your daily SPF.
Skin Ceuticals Phyto Corrective Masque, Skin Ceuticals Photo Corrective Serum, Skin Ceuticals B5 Serum, Skin Ceuticals Retexturising Activator
Skin Ceuticals Phyto Corrective Mask (R1 125.00) – I’ve had this mask for a good while now and I just never seem to speak about it, even though I use it atleast 2-3 times a week.  This is an intensively calming mask which helps to cool the skin, reduce redness and sensitivity.  It’s especially useful post Dermapen, Microneedling or PDL facial when you basically look like a tomato & don’t want to leave your apartment.  It has ingredients like cucumber, thyme & olive which all help to calm & cool the skin as well as Hyaluronic Acid which adds hydration.
My thoughts:   I’m going for a PDL facial next week so I can report back on how this mask works post treatment (will update this blog post) but lately I’ve been using this if I’m having bad skin days.  When I have a couple of raging or even just stubborn blemishes on my face I like to apply this mask with a drop of the Retexturing Activator or the Hydrating B5 Serum mixed in.  I’ll wear it over overnight and I wake up with plump, hydrated skin & the blemishes are a lot less inflamed.  I also like using this after a chemical exfoliant or clay mask just to add some hydration.  It has a water-based kind of gel texture that sinks in really quickly and doesn’t feel odd on the skin.
Skin Ceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel Review
Skin Ceuticals Hydrating B5 Serum (R1 325.00) – This is an extremely light & fast absorbing hydration boosting serum.  Doesn’t that sentence alone make you want to buy this?  It’s an oil-free serum that I use under my daily moisturiser and it helps my skin to feel smooth & plump.  This is perfect for dehydrated skin but would also be good for someone with normal or combination skin because it’s oil-free.  You could use this instead of a moisturiser but I prefer to use this as a serum.
My thoughts:  I used this for a while before I started using the H.A Intensifier & absolutely loved it.  My skin always has a little bit of a freakout in the beginning of winter & I usually develop dry patches on the top of my cheeks and that didn’t happen this winter.  Because I was using this before the start of Winter my skin was happy as a clam.  Seriously, if you have dehydrated skin, pick this up, you’ll love it!
You can get your hands on Skin Ceuticals through Dermastore – their online store is super informative if you’re still unsure of anything check out their site.
