I have another winning combination for you and it comes in the form of a limited edition range from The Body Shop. You wouldn’t have seen many body butters around these parts because I’ve always hated them. I’m getting in over my head – let me start by saying that I have scales for skin, as in constantly dry, gives the Sahara Desert a run for its money. Mostly due to bad skin genes and my general laziness.
In recent months, leading up to Summer I’ve been on a mission to get my skin ready, and this takes a lot more than a shave and moisturising. Did I mention the scales? I’ve also managed to leave it till this late, I mean summer is basically less than a month away.
The goal: scales to silk.
Effort level: 8
Time frame: pushing it at ±3 weeks
I started out using The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Body Butter because I love mojito’s and love the idea of smelling like them. The scent is beautifully summery, without being sickeningly sweet. The reason I’ve never been a fan of body butters is because they usually leave my skin feeling like I have a layer of lard on it and it takes too long to sink in (read: I’m impatient).
Don’t get me wrong this does still take time to sink in, I just think it doesn’t take as long as some of their other body butters. The holiday in Hawaii scent does help the process significantly. This body butter has left my skin feeling noticeably different, not silky, but we’re getting there.
After having such a great experience with the body butter and knowing that this is a limited edition range, I picked up the body scrub a week later. I’ve only used it twice, and if I had the time and patience to have a pamper every night, I would – with these products! It has a sugar scrub which is perfect for the range. Not too scrubby, so it is one I could happily use every night before jumping in the shower. I prefer a good hard scrub so I go to town with this stuff on dry skin. It’s a lot lighter than something like Rub Rub Rub from Lush, so if you have sensitive skin you’ll still like this. It comes in kind of like a gel so a lot lighter than any other body scrub I’ve used.
The combination of the scrub and body butter have made a huge difference in my skin texture, in under 2 weeks. Even LéBoyfriend has commented on it – now that’s a win!
If you’ve also managed to leave the summer skin transformation to this late, I recommend you try this.
ps, The Body Shop is running a 3 for 2 sale till Decmeber 😉

I nabbed these as soon as they came out and I’ve been smitten with the fresh scent ever since. If you can ever get your hands on their Papaya range, I would definitely recommend it too – the body butter is especially amazing!
