January comes with revised budgets, tightened budgets, more saving and a heck of a lot less spending. At least for me, January also means playing around with some Christmas makeup bits. So most of this is gifts from family.
Here it is, the first favourites post for 2015:
1. SORBET Nail Polish remover is just like any other nail polish remover in its formula, except this has one of those salon pumps. Which seems like nothing special when you’re staring at it in Clicks wondering how much better his pimp could be for an extra R30. Well if you’re anything like me and you want everything to be as quick as possible & nail painting really is a long process this eliminates some of that time. It only costs R40 through Sorbet and is also sold at Clicks, I’m not sure about Dischem.
2. LUSH So White shower gel is a dream of citrus scents, and it has that trademark Lush smell that wafts out of the shower when you open the door. But the best thing about this is that it doubles up as a shampoo. So you can just prance around spelling like a lemon/orange tree. I don’t know about you but I like the sound of that. It was one of their Christmas limited edition items but think it was under R100.
3. The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Butter is something I would have never chosen, but picked it up as a recommendation from the ladies at All Dolled Up. I use it after the Chamomile Makup Removing Oil on my eye makeup and then rub the cleansing butter onto my dry face to remove the rest of my makeup. I remove the cleansing butter with a flannel cloth and then repeat to actually clean my face. So simple and easy. I think it self for R150 at The Body Shop.
4. The Body Shop Chamomile Makeup Removing Oil is great for the lazy nights when I just want to remove my makeup in bed just before I crash but also perfect for removing stubborn eye makeup, even waterproof makeup , before I go in with the cleaning butter. Sells for R120 at The Body Shop.
5. Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham is hella entertaining, I have a good laugh while reading this. I’m still busy because I don’t want it to end so I’m reading it slowly. But definitely a good entertaing read.
6. Laura Mercier blush in Peach Whisper is a ,overly everyday color, nothing fancy, nothing amazing, just a great colour that goes with pretty much everything and is lovely for summer.
7. MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork is such a great eyeshadow base. It’s a colour that can be worn by itself, for a slap-dash makeup option, when you’re late for work. Or for the ladies that don’t like fussing with too much makeup. MYou can get it at any MAC stores for R200 which is great considering the size and the amount you get.
8. Bobbie Brown Colour Corrector changes the undereye area completely, and I have some serious undereye bags, which make any makeup look, look incomplete because you can see those damn bags. After getting this babe I said goodbye to tired looking eyes. So much so that I haven’t been getting the “are you sick?” Or “Oh My Gosh, you look so tired!”.
9. NYX Lip Pencil in Nude/ Diaphane is my ultimate my-lips-but-better shade, and it’s waterproof!
10. MAC Brow Pencil in Lingering makes doing brows x10 quicker and easier. I just use the pencil to outline my brow shape and then fill them in with my usual Charcoal MAC eyeshadow.
So there are my go to basics for a good face, minus a few but I could throw together s good look with these.
As usual, if you try any of these let me know what you think?
