Shop the post-Christmas sales

I had a bit of a two-day spree at the Waterfront on the 26th and 27th.  I have never really made a habit of shopping the post-Christmas mad sales purely because I couldn’t stand the sheer number of people who populate the malls over that time.  This year though I was oddly excited about the sales, partly because I’ve become more frugal and like to get more for my money and mostly because of Country Road – I’m a sucker for some Country Road.

These are just a few bits I picked up at the sales.  I’m sure I could have spent more but I probable would have regretted over spending and living like a church mouse for New Years and the rest of January.  So when I got home and reviewed the bits I bought, I didn’t have that horrible feeling at the pit of my stomach, the one when you over eat on Christmas, or the morning afer you drink a bit too much at the year-end party.  Those are one in the same as over shopping is for me.  This time I didn’t have that feeling of fun mixed with regret.

So here are a few post-Christmas shopping tips:

1. Make a list of things you need

– house decor bits that are usually too expensive to buy throughput the year.

– fashion pieces you wouldn’t usually splurge on or

– Things you really need but never buy like socks and underwear.

2.  Bath & beauty products – The bulk buy bits are always good to buy now, for the first few months of the new year when you are more aware and strict with your monthly budget.  The Body Shop & Clicks are good for these things because they mark down most of their bulk buy items after Christmas.

3.   Stick to your budget –  It’s so easy to get side tracked and spend WAY more than yo need to, buying things you won’t be using in two months.  I suggest buying the old faithful’s, the things you know are good  or have heard trusted reviews on.

4. Do your research – I always like to catch up on a generous amount of Beauty YouTube channels, scouting out the best buys, from trusted faces and opinions.  Catch up on some blogs, as they tend to give more info on products, if you’re able to read it all.

Happy shopping!
