Vichy Ideal Summer

Vichy Ideal Summer

A few weeks ago I went to the Vichy Summer launch event where they showed us a few new products and also gave us a few to try out.  Because we’re heading into the warmer months I’ll be swapping my medium coverage foundations for more tinted moisturisers and two in one products.  Summer months are the worst for me because I hate getting hot and sweaty and the thought of adding layers and layers of  makeup to my hot (read: sweaty) face just stresses me out.

Vichy Capital Soleil BB Cream:  You guys know my love for light, barely-there, can still see my freckles tinted moisturiser type products.  Previously I wouldn’t have bothered with checking the level of SPF in products but now it’s one of the main reasons why I love them.  Cape Town summers or any weather really, you need to be wearing either a moisturiser, primer or foundation with SPF in it.  And I’m not talking SPF 15 only, come on!  I first rub this in with fingers and then go in with my damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.  This is the perfect product for beach days when you need serious SPF and a hint of colour & coverage.

Vichy Eau Thermale Spa Water:  In my October favourites video I spoke about the Eau Thermale Avenè Spring Water Mist and this is pretty much the same thing.  They’re both for sensitive skin and sourced from mineral springs in France.  As with these things it usually comes down to a few small differences.  I like this style of packaging, with the can because the product is always cooling and whats better than a cooling mist on a hot summers day or just after a shower?  The nozzle on the Vichy Mist is different because it disperses a good even mist.  The best description of the mist would be like morning dew.  It sounds cheesy but wait – you almost can’t feel it on your face.  If you had to ask me to choose one I’d go with the Vichy mist.

If you’re interested in trying or buying these you can find Vichy at select Clicks stores.
